Perhaps on the next trip west, I should deviate from I-70.

No Seriously. Most of the plains states - never touched. The costal south - not part of family vacations. New England - not unless 84 th Street in Manhattan counts. This is my crescent-wrench-shaped map of states visited, not a Green Party v. Republican electoral map.

Signs

While living there, I took the fantastic profusion of neon script, giant figures, and grey area trademark figures for granted. Now I miss them, especially since almost all of these signs are on or just off of Colfax Avenue, Denver's longest and most recalcitrantly gritty street.

Astonishing

Beautiful panoramic photos panoramas of the Burning Man event. It strikes me as a medium that can help approximate, but never capture, the sense of space in places like the San Luis Valley, and Fair Play, Colorado.
